WALAHI TALAHI............................WE ARE ALL BOKO HARAM!!! BY JAIYEOLA AJASA

BREAKING NEWS!! THE GIRLS ARE STILL MISSING!! Their where about unknown. The sad part, we just do not care...... anymore. How easily Nigerians forget. It feels like a lifetime since more than 200 Nigerian girls were snatched from their school in the dead of night by the brutal blood thirsty caliphate Boko Haram. The universal outrage that greeted the abduction, and the massive effort to mobilize the global community to confront the terrorists and rescue the girls, has dissipated. Meanwhile, with the world's attention once again turning to fresh crises in Iraq and Israel, ?#?bringbackourgirls? is no longer the hashtag it once was. The regular downtown demonstrations in Nigerian capital, Abuja, have dwindled, with the crowds of red-tee shirted campaigners accusing the government of trying to undermine them. Many Nigerians famished for their five minutes of fame, even those in diaspora; that came out in their Christmas attires to follow the cue of celebrities like Michelle Obama and P-Diddy, now have doubts that the GIRLS were ever missing. For convenience purpose and in true Nigerian fashion, we want to believe that it was all a conspiracy theory. "The missing girls" were never missing! Yet the Nigerian government signed a contract worth more than $1.2 million with a Washington DC public relations firm to deal with the fallout from the Boko Haram kidnappings. The non-profit International Crisis Group estimates that the Abubakar Shekau led group has killed more than 4,000 people since it began its campaign. At least 1,500 Nigerians have died as the result of the conflict this year alone. Only in Nigeria would # BRING BACK OUR GIRLS metamorphose into # BRING BACK JONATHAN 2015. CHAI!!!! THERE IS GOD OOOO!!!!! # THE NIGERIAN TRUTH. We are not our brothers' or sisters' keepers. The plight of the missing girls, validates our insensitivity as a people. As long as the fire is engulfing the house of our next door neighbor, "glory be to God." Why should we care about the girls? After all slave trade is legal in Nigeria. Or what do you call the business of house boys and house girls as young as seven years old looking after your seven year old? What do you call a sixty five year old driver that is at your beck and call 24/7 and his annual salary is your wife's pedicure bill in Dubai? He is in the scorching car waiting for you, while bury your common sense in between the thighs of a girl your daughter's age in a five star hotel. Boko Haram, took advantage of a dysfunctional Government, same thing we do every day. A country where the rich believe they have been ordained from zygote to oppress the poor. We have in essence become drunk on money and loaded with unabashed arrogance. The diagnosis of our national neurosis is that we thrive on inequality and would # BRING BACK JONATHAN 2015 just for that important reason. Economic and geographical segregation have immunized those at the top from the problems of those below. They have come to perceive their privileged positions as natural rights. We are not talking here about the preserve neurotic psycho-babbling, but the very basis of the Boko Haram in us. Our infatuation with ourselves at the detriment of others. We have become people with too much greed, too much pride, too much narcissism ;"do you know who I am?" is our advertising slogan. Our society is grouted with selfishness, greed and pride. It is the very glue with which its edifice has been raised. The odd varieties seem quaint. That is why we do not see the business of house maids and abusing a man the age of our father, as modern day Trans Sahara slave trade. That is why the # BRING BACK THE GIRLS now irritates us. That is why we are glad that what is happening in Sokoto is not affecting our sokoto. Gambaris killing Fulanis. That is the very least of our problem. Walahi talahi, we are Boko Haram!!! I can only beg of you, before you delete me as a friend for the madness to dare compare you to Boko Haram. Consider seriously whether your instinctive repugnance to such an allegation is really rational or whether it is only emotional aesthetic. Like Boko Haram we have become sanctimonious nincompoops. 72 virgins waiting for them in al janna.(sic) The temperature drops when we talk about religion. We forget that religion, both Islam and Christianity is the willing sacrifice of self to others. The need for chastity, humility, mercy and justice. We forget that how much we think is right is wrong. What if there is Heaven and Hell ( johanam) ? What if there is God and he sees our hearts and knows our conscience? Our continued silence to the unfortunate ordeal of these girls is a soft applause to this fig-leaf administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. What if one of those girls was your daughter? # BRING BACK THE GIRLS!!! # CHAI!! THERE IS GOD OOOO!!!! 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23.
