THE VOICE OF THE EKITI PEOPLE...............THE VOICE OF GOD.

THE VOICE OF THE EKITI PEOPLE...............THE VOICE OF GOD. Our road to ruin. The lessons the APC will NEVER learn are these: ONE, in politics you have to keep explaining who you are, what makes you unique, and what sets you apart.TWO, candidates matter more to voters than parties backing them. And last but not the least, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is Asiwaju of Bourdillion in Lagos State. Not the Asiwaju of the Yoruba people. When APC lost the election in Ondo State to the Labor Party, its supporters believed it was a coincidence. When it suffered another crushing defeat, after pumping money into Anambra State. They still had excuses and the coincidence theory continued. Now the stunning defeat in Ekiti State to PDP and a pattern is beginning to emerge. The unfettered fall of the party and its leadership, handed down in areas which it considered its strong base. Verdict: the people of Ekiti State and indeed the Yoruba people are intelligent and know that the party preaches a biblical faith in a democracy that is inexorably stacked against the interest of the ninety nine percent. The party has deep problems, which all the money of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu can scarcely mask. He has become a polarizer more than a unifer of the Yoruba people. His supporters loves cherry picking. They regale you with tired, erroneous and irrelevant argument. People weighed down by demagoguery and fascination with zealotry. The people of Ekiti State have spoken. Let the house rat hear and inform the bush rat: PDP is the party to beat and the party to be beaten is the APC. Chikena!!! Our road to ruin. When the desirable is not available, the available becomes desirable. In the sad case of Nigerian politics, the undesirable becomes palatable. The grotesque reality of what transpired in Ekiti State should not be lost on us. The missing girls have been in captivity for over one hundred days. Their abduction by Boko Haram was one of the most talked about incidents in the world this year. That so many girls can be seized by terrorists was itself terrible; worse, it took the fig leaf government of PDP under Goodluck Jonathan, three weeks to even acknowledge the kidnapping. And when it did, it had no clue where the girls were and what to do to save them. As at press time, THE GIRLS ARE STILL MISSING. Boko Haram, under a demented leader called Abubakar Shekau has become a government within a government. Coupled with millions defecting from the Party, the PDP was presumed to be "dead". The hero of the hour Ayo Fayose is a rouge. A disgraced former governor, the more you delve into his dirty past, the more you understand how sad the Ekiti State result was. We don't need to pontificate what kind of a man the newly elected governor is. A man presumed politically "dead" defeating an incumbent. Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party polled 203,090 of the votes cast , defeating Governor Kayode Fayemi of All Progressives Congress who scored 120,433 votes. His victory has now altered 2015 calculations, as PDP has made a major inroad into the South-west. Our road to ruin. PDP boasted that it will rule Nigeria for fifty years. The question remains, where is the opposition to put an end to their inglorious reign and bombastic threat. APC? Certainly, not under its present management. A leadership that cannot defeat a "dead" party and a "dead" man with political baggage the size of Olumo rock. The party has a curable disease. It needs an injection of common sense. The hubris of the party and its leaders is contrary to the egalitarian noise it makes. The inestimable popularity of the party in the South is a promulgated fantasy. The unmitigated selfishness of its leaders needs to stop. Unless these a deeper rot will set in. The cracks are so conspicuous in the philosophy and ideology of the party. It needs a more plausible leader than Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. He is a great man but he is oblivious to the vociferous yawning of the Yoruba people. The continuing illusion of him as an adept politician is the biggest vote generator for PDP and Goodluck Joanthan. On the plus side the election was free and fair and democracy prevailed. We on JAIYEOLA STREET can only wish elected Governor Fayose well. The voice of the people became the voice of God. The APC should listen to the voice of the people. It should listen to the voice of God................For the sake of Nigeria. The problem with leaderless uprisings taking over is that you don't always know what you get at the other end. If you are not careful you could replace a bad government with one much worse! Chinua Achebe — with Tunde Oyekunle Oyeleke and 19 others.
